By John Wright, Senior Partner at The DISC Agency
If you’ve ever looked at a DISC report and wondered, “How do I make sense of this profile at a glance?”, then let me introduce you to one of the most powerful, under-utilised visual tools in behavioural science: the TTI Success Insights® Wheel.
I’ve been facilitating DISC workshops across Australia for more than a decade, and no tool creates a faster “aha!” moment for teams and leaders than the Wheel. It transforms pages of behavioural data into a clear, elegant snapshot of who you are, how you behave under pressure, and how you’re adapting to your environment.
So, what exactly is this Wheel—and why should every leader, coach, and HR professional care?
The Wheel: At a Glance
The TTI Success Insights® Wheel is a circular map divided into 60 numbered segments, grouped into 8 behavioural styles:
Conductor, Persuader, Promoter, Relater, Supporter, Coordinator, Analyzer, and Implementor.
Your DISC results are plotted onto this wheel in two ways:
- A circle indicates your Natural Style—how you behave when you’re relaxed or being your true self.
- A star indicates your Adapted Style—how you adjust your behaviour to meet the expectations of your current environment (like your workplace).
This allows us to instantly see:
- How closely aligned (or misaligned) your natural and adapted behaviours are.
- Whether you’re under stress or stretching too far from your comfort zone.
- Where potential friction or synergy may arise on a team.

What Do the Wheel’s Quadrants Represent?
Each quadrant of the Wheel corresponds with one of the four primary DISC factors:
- D – Dominance: Task-focused and fast-paced.
- I – Influence: People-focused and fast-paced.
- S – Steadiness: People-focused and moderate-paced.
- C – Compliance: Task-focused and moderate-paced.
Within each quadrant, the eight styles reflect nuanced behavioural combinations. For example:
- A Persuader (like John Doe in the sample DISC Executive report) blends high Dominance and high Influence—driven, energetic, and socially confident.
- A Coordinator reflects high Steadiness and high Compliance—supportive, cautious, and consistent.
Why Does This Matter?
In leadership, sales, customer service, or teamwork, self-awareness and adaptability are everything.
The Wheel:
✅ Makes behavioural tendencies visible and memorable
✅ Helps teams identify communication blind spots
✅ Reveals whether someone is adapting too far from their natural style (a red flag for burnout or disengagement)
✅ Enables better role fit, conflict resolution, and coaching conversations
Take our client “John Doe” from the sample TTI report. His Natural Style is a Persuader, but his Adapted Style shifts toward a Persuading Conductor—showing he’s dialling up his assertiveness at work. This might be effective in a leadership role, but over time, if it’s too far from his core, it could lead to stress or fatigue.
Creating a Team Wheel: Where the Magic Happens
Now here’s where the TTI Wheel really shines.
Imagine a whole team plotted together on one Wheel—a visual Team Map. Suddenly, you can:
- See who’s similar and who’s different
- Spot likely communication breakdowns (e.g., a high-D Conductor managing a high-S Supporter)
- Understand why some teams move fast, while others prefer slow, methodical decisions
We’ve seen companies completely reshape how they allocate responsibilities and design meetings after seeing their Team Wheel. It’s transformative.

Final Thoughts from the Workshop Floor
In every DISC session I run, the TTI Success Insights® Wheel is the slide that makes people sit up straight.
It’s more than a chart—it’s a behavioural compass.
In an age of information overload and personality quizzes, this is a practical, scientifically backed, business-ready tool that gives leaders the clarity they need to build trust, lead change, and get results through people.
Whether you’re building a sales team, navigating boardroom dynamics, or trying to better understand yourself, the Wheel is your secret weapon.
If you’re ready to uncover what your Wheel says about you or want to visualise your entire team’s behavioural DNA, get in touch. At The DISC Agency, we don’t just run workshops—we help leaders decode human behaviour to drive performance.
